Does Your Project Require Planning Approval? 

Please make an appointment with Planning Division staff to discuss whether your next project will require submittal of a planning application. Appointments can be arranged by emailing dutyplanner@cityofmartinez.org. Staff will arrange to meet with you virtually or in person at Martinez City Hall based on your preference.

Cost Recovery Agreements

If a planning application is required, staff will inform you of the applicable submittal requirements and fees. Planning applications processed based on a flat fee are not subject to a cost recovery agreement. Applicants submitting Planning applications processed on an hourly rate basis are subject to a cost recovery agreement with the City. The initial deposit is based upon the application type and review body. Additional deposit funds may be required if the application processing costs exceed the initial deposit amount. Any monies remaining in the deposit account at the completion of the project will be refunded to the applicant.
