Housing Programs

The City of Martinez, in cooperation with the County of Contra Costa, operates several housing programs to benefit the local community. Below, please find information on the City’s various housing programs.

Housing Choice Voucher Program

 

Program Description

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (“HCV”) is a federal government program, administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (“HACCC”), to assist very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing by providing rental assistance.

Program Eligibility

To be considered eligible for the HCV Program, all applicants must:

  • Qualify as a family as defined by HUD and HACCC standards.
  • Have an income at or below the HUD-specified income limits. Income limits can be found in the Housing and Urban Development data center website.
  • Have at least one member of the family who is a citizen, national, or noncitizen with eligible immigration status.
  • Consent to HACCC’s collection and use of family information as seen in HACCC’s provided consent forms.
