Get Involved!
The City Council receives advice and assistance from various Council appointed Commissions and Committees made up of Martinez citizens and/or individuals with expertise in a particular area. The City Council encourages citizens to serve in an advisory capacity on one of the City's various committees, commissions or as a representative on an outside agency, and to attend and participate in Commission and Committee meetings.
Vacant Commission & Committee Seats
The City of Martinez is currently looking to fill vacant seats for:
- Civil Service Commission
- Parks, Recreation, Marina and Cultural Commission
- County Connection Advisory Committe
Applications
Applications can be submitted at any time! You can download the application HERE or swing by City Hall and pick up an application from the Front Lobby. Applications are kept on file for 2 years.
Applications can be submitted by mail to the City Clerk's Office, located at 525 Henrietta Street, Martinez, CA 94553. Or schedule an appointment with the City Clerk to submit your application in person. Appointments are required for in-person submissions. To schedule an appointment, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (925) 372-3512.
- Supporting Documents - If you are not able to fit all information in the application fields, you can put “SEE ATTACHMENT” in the box and write any supporting information on a separate piece of paper. It is common practice, but not required, to provide a resume in support of your application.
- Selecting Interested Commissions - You can select as many as you are interested in!
Review Process
The City Clerk will collect and review all applications upon submission. As a vacancy occurs, the City Clerk will forward interested applicants to the Mayor who will make a recommendation of appointment.
