Golden State Outrigger Canoe Race

GSOCC is excited to bring the polynesian sport of outrigger canoe racing to the Martinez Waterfront. Our race is funded and sponsored in part by the C&H Sugar factory (California & Hawaii Sugar company based in Crockett) our race will serve as a reminder to the community of the C&H Factory's legacy and connection to our local community and Hawaii. The name of the race is called "The Sugar Run" the racecourse consists of several 6-MAN Outrigger Canoes starting at the Martinez Marina bay, paddling approx 5 miles up the Carquinez strait towards the Carquinez bridge, rounding a buoy at the C&H Sugar Factory then returning to the Martinez area finishing in a 10-11 mile round trip race.
