Ballot Measure History
- October 18th: City Council Meeting - Conversion of City Clerk position from elected to appointed is discussed. Council requested staff to prepare presentation for discussion on November 1st meeting.
- November 1st: City Council Meeting - Presentation and discussion in consideration of changing the elected City Clerk to an appointed position; Council directed staff to prepare for Council review and adoption the necessary materials to place a ballot measure before the voters at the Statewide Primary Election in 2024.
- November 15th: City Council Meeting - Informational report regarding proposed restructuring of the City Clerk’s Office with an Appointed City Clerk staff position; consideration of ballot measure; adoption of resolution calling for, noticing and requesting consolidation of Special Election with Statewide Primary Election on March 5, 2024.
- November 21st: City Attorney filed Impartial Analysis with the City Clerk's Office.
- December 6th: City Council Meeting - Discussion regarding the City Attorney’s Impartial Analysis; Council review and ratification of draft Argument In Favor.
- December 14th: County Elections Office - The letter A has been assigned to the ballot measure.
- December 20th: County Elections Office - The City Council's ratified Argument In Favor was filed; no additional Arguments In Favor were received.
- December 25th*: County Elections Office - No Arguments Against were received.

January 2, 2024 - The County Election's Office has assigned the City's ballot measure the letter "A". No Arguments Against or additional Arguments In Favor have been filed. The official ballot materials which consist of Measure A (full text), the City Attorney's Impartial Analysis, and the City Council's ratified Argument In Favor, can be viewed here and will be included in the Voter Information Guide.
